Fred's Sound Box is an oral-blending game for early readers. Choose the phase and set your child is on, then tap each letter tile to hear its sound, press "Say the word" to blend the sounds together, and pick the picture that matches. Phase 1 runs as a listen-only round where the sounds are read aloud and the child picks the picture. You can switch between two-picture and three-picture choices at any time.
It follows the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised scheme taught in many UK schools, covering Phases 1 to 5 from Nursery to Year 1. Children only ever blend the grapheme-phoneme correspondences they have already been taught, and the set picker steps through that progression with optional review of earlier sets.
It is built by a UK SEND tutor with QTS, and is calm, ad-free and free of third-party tracking. There is no timer or score, and an errorless two-picture mode is on by default so new readers cannot fail their way into shutdown. It plays in any browser on a tablet, laptop or whiteboard for 1:1 tutoring and screen-share therapy sessions, and is free to play without signing up.
