Choose by what happens when you touch
For an immediate response, try Balloon Pop: one tap makes a visual burst, without sound. Pop It lets you pop one bubble or drag across several; use its Sound and Haptic switches to choose what you feel and hear.
Breathing Buddy moves on its own. It is an optional visual rhythm to follow, rather than a game where pressing changes the outcome. A feelings check offers a way to choose a picture; nobody has to explain their choice or pick a particular feeling.
Playing alongside someone
Offer two activities and let the player choose. Demonstrate once if useful, then leave room for their own taps, pauses or decision to stop. These are activities, not tests or treatments; enjoying a different pace is fine.
The picture communication board serves a different purpose from a game. Communication support should not wait for a person to demonstrate cause-and-effect understanding. ASHA explains that AAC has no prerequisites.
Want a clear finish instead? Try an Easy Memory board. For a few connected activities, follow a play adventure. The family and classroom guide has practical ways to introduce them.
