Choose between two feeling cards, or match a feeling name to its game picture. These are different ways to play: choosing has no right answer, while matching asks for a particular named card. Both activities are free in your browser, with no signup or countdown.

Match a feeling name

Choose Match names, then pick eight familiar feelings or all fourteen. Each question can show two or four pictures. Start matching opens the first prompt, such as Find Happy. Choose the picture named Happy in this game's card set. Optional Hear name plays the existing prerecorded feeling-name audio when read-aloud controls are enabled; nothing speaks automatically in matching mode.

If you choose another card, its name is revealed and the prompt stays available. Show names reveals every label for support. Once a name is matched, choose Next card yourself; the game does not rush to another question. There is no timer, lost life or penalty for using names. A complete round covers each selected card name once.

The eight-card set uses Happy, Sad, Angry, Scared, Excited, Tired, Calm and Worried. All fourteen adds Proud, Shy, Silly, Curious, Loved and Brave. Matching uses these simple card labels at every working level; the richer words in the original choice game do not change its prompts.

Come back to a matching round

Matching progress saves on this device. The two-choice and four-choice versions of each card set keep separate rounds, so returning to one does not overwrite another. Continue matching reopens the saved question; a completed question stays matched until you choose Next. Clearing browser storage can remove the saved round and stickers.

Save the activity to favourites to keep its exact card set and number of choices. The game adds a feeling-card sticker after a correct match, including matches made with names shown. These join the same fourteen-card collection used by the choice game. They record collected game cards, not an accuracy score or an assessment of emotional understanding.

Choose between two feeling cards

Choose a card keeps the original Which One? activity. Two named pictures appear together; tap or click either one, use A or Left for the left card, B or Right for the right card, or swipe. Choose for me makes a random pick. No card is the correct answer, and the player can pause or stop rather than make a choice.

The fourteen cards are shuffled into seven pairs. At the youngest working level the initial round target is five; higher levels can use all seven pairs. The choice game's current working level also controls its optional richer vocabulary, such as Calm becoming Serene. Matching mode keeps the simple labels instead.

The results show the cards picked during that game and award its top card as a collection sticker. A choice log is a record of game selections. A player choosing Worried over Excited does not establish that they are worried, prefer being worried or recognise another person's emotion. Ask what their choice means if they want to explain it; declining is allowed.

Pictures, feelings and playing together

These are stylised game pictures with assigned names. People can show and describe feelings in different ways; a face or game choice cannot tell us exactly how someone feels. An adult can read a prompt, name a card or operate a button after the player's agreed communication. No spoken answer is required by either game.

For a personal check-in, use the separate Feelings check tool rather than interpreting the matching results or the choice podium. Communication support is not conditional on completing either game. The activities do not provide a diagnosis, a therapeutic outcome or a measure of a person's communication ability.

Questions about the Feelings deck

Are the feelings games free?
Yes. Both modes open free in a browser without signup or download. Matching progress, favourites and stickers can be saved on this device. See the privacy page for account and optional analytics details.
What is the difference between matching and choosing?
Matching asks you to find the game card with a given name. Choosing presents two cards and accepts either selection. The matching result and the choice log describe game actions, not how the player or another person feels.
Can the feeling names be heard?
Matching offers a Hear name button when read-aloud controls are enabled. It plays the site's existing prerecorded name clips only when requested. A written prompt and optional visible labels remain available without sound.
Does matching need dragging or a spoken answer?
No. Tap or click a picture, or Tab to a card and press Enter or Space. The next question waits for a separate Next card action. Neither game requires the player to speak. Test the complete workflow with your own device and access setup.
Can I continue a matching round later?
Yes, when browser storage is available. Each card-set and choice-count combination keeps its own saved round. Favourites keep the exact activity link. If saving is blocked, the game shows a message and lets you keep playing on the current page.
