Accessibility and game controls

Different games use different inputs. Check the instructions on each game page before choosing an activity. This page describes available options and limitations; it is not a claim that every game works with every assistive device.

Choose an input

Which One? decks accept A or Left Arrow for the left choice, B or Right Arrow for the right choice, and R to restart. A switch configured to send those keys may work. We have not verified compatibility with every switch, scanning system or browser.

Touch and mouse controls are available in many games. Dragging, timing and movement requirements vary. Keyboard support in one game does not mean another game uses the same controls. Read the game’s instructions, and preview an activity with the player when useful.

Word search offers selectable letter buttons. Jigsaw offers tap-to-select as an alternative to dragging. These can be useful starting points when dragging is difficult.

Sound, movement and pace

Seasonal scenery has movement and calm settings. Individual games may have their own sound and motion controls. Turning down the device volume is another option. Preview a game if unexpected sounds, movement or seasonal imagery may be unwelcome.

Many puzzles have no timer; some arcade games involve speed or held movement. The activity description explains the format. Browse calm activities for quieter alternatives.
