Whack-a-Mole is a quick reaction game played against the clock. Tap or click the moles as they pop up out of their holes to score a point each. For older players a few bombs appear in the mix, so part of the skill is spotting them and leaving them alone, since hitting a bomb costs you points.
It is brilliant for sharpening reaction time, visual scanning and impulse control: the fun comes from the speed and the split-second decision of whether to tap. The challenge fits the chosen working level, with a longer, bomb-free round for younger players and shorter rounds where moles pop faster and bombs are more common for older ones.
