Play or print halloween word search
Hunt for a bat, ghost, pumpkin, witch, broom and moon in the first Halloween grid. Larger grids add spider, cobweb, mummy and mask. This is a letter puzzle with friendly seasonal words, without jump scares or a countdown. Play on screen, or take the same grid to a Halloween activity table with the answer sheet on a separate page.
Three ways to find a word
- Tap or click: choose the first letter, then the last. Either end can come first.
- Drag: press on one end and release on the other. Releasing outside the grid cancels the drag.
- Keyboard: Tab to the grid, use arrow keys to move, and Enter or Space to choose each end. Escape clears a selection. Held selection keys do not find extra words.
A warm line previews a straight selection. Found words stay marked in mint on the grid and crossed off the list. Each target counts once, even if you select it again backwards. A selection that does not match a target costs nothing. There is no timer.
Choose the direction level
- Across & down: six words in an 8×8 grid, running right or down.
- Add diagonals: eight words in a 10×10 grid, including downward diagonals.
- All directions: ten words in a 12×12 grid, with backwards and upward words too.
You may select a word from either end at every level. Show a starting letter names one remaining word and marks where it begins; it does not find the whole word or award a sticker. Finish all targets to earn the shared sticker for that pack and level.
Print the same puzzle, with answers
Use Download puzzle + answers in the game for a two-page A4 PDF. Page one contains the exact current letter grid and word list; page two marks every answer. Print only page one if you want to keep the answers separate. The PDF contains selectable text and vector lines, and its return link opens that same pack, level and seed online.

Saved progress and new puzzles
Found words save in this browser. Each pack and direction level keeps its own puzzle. Returning through the same link restores its found words when that puzzle is still saved here. New puzzle asks before clearing an unfinished hunt; your earned stickers stay. Changing packs lets you return to the previous pack’s saved board.
The save message explains a failed write or a change made in another tab. Keep the tab open and choose Save this puzzle to retry or explicitly replace the other save. A link to a different seed can be played without silently discarding a saved puzzle. Clearing browser data removes local progress. Saves do not move between devices.
