Reading Room is a free, untimed reading comprehension activity. Its twelve original five-sentence passages each have three questions: find a stated fact, follow the order of events or instructions, and use a clue to support an answer. Read independently or ask a partner to read with you. No account or audio is required.
The passage stays visible while you answer. Choose an answer, then select a sentence in the passage that supports it. A sentence number confirms your selection. Choose Check answer and evidence to check both parts together. Some questions accept more than one supporting sentence; any one of the accepted sentences is enough.
An incorrect check keeps your choices and your place. You can change the answer or evidence and try again. Show explanation gives a model answer and identifies the supporting sentences without completing the question for you. After a correct check, read the explanation, then choose Next question. Finishing a passage means checking all three questions, rather than simply opening its last page.
Inference questions ask what probably happened or why something might be useful. They use details from these specific passages, rather than asking you to guess a character's feelings from a picture. The explanations distinguish what the passage says from what its details suggest. These short examples do not cover every reasonable discussion someone could have about a story.
The lantern path and pumpkin label are autumn stories. The parcel string and winter concert are Christmas stories. They use the same reading controls and separate saved progress as the everyday passages. Browse Halloween games or Christmas games for the accompanying drawing, matching and puzzle activities.
Open Choose a story to switch passages. Each keeps its selected answer, supporting sentence and checked question separately in this browser on this device. A story-specific favourite keeps the selected passage link. Restart this story asks before replacing its answers; other passages and earned stickers remain. Completing a passage awards its sticker in the shared sticker book.
Saving progress and saving a sticker are checked separately. If either cannot be confirmed, the game says so and offers a retry. You can keep playing during this visit, but a refresh, cleared storage, another browser or another device may not retain that work. There is no cloud save or mastery score.
Tap or click a sentence to select evidence. Tab reaches the story chooser, sentence buttons and action controls. Use the arrow keys within the native answer radio group, then Tab to Check answer and evidence. Enter or Space activates a focused button; holding a key does not automatically skip questions. The page scrolls normally on phones: the question and choices come first, followed by the passage and check controls.
