Breathing Buddy is a gentle breathing pacer. You pick a pattern - box breathing (4·4·4·4), 4·7·8 to wind down, a smooth no-holding pattern, or a shorter kid-size one - then simply follow the circle: breathe in as it grows, hold while it pauses, and breathe out as it shrinks. There is nothing to tap during a round; an optional gentle voice can cue each step, or you can turn it off and just watch.
It is a calm-down and self-regulation tool rather than a game to win. Slow, paced breathing helps settle a racing heart and an overwhelmed mind, and the steady visual rhythm gives a child something easy to lock onto. There is no score, no timer and no way to fail - just one breath after another for as long as feels right.
Breathing Buddy was built by a UK SEND tutor with QTS to support regulation. It is calm, ad-free and uses no third-party tracking, and it works in any browser on a tablet, laptop or classroom whiteboard, so it fits neatly into 1:1 tutoring or screen-shared therapy sessions when someone needs a moment to reset. It is one of our free tools, so there is no sign-up to use it.
